Inner Strength--How Do We Find It?

Inner Strength--How Do We Find It?

I’ve always had an inner strength deep within me. In addition my parents instilled in me a strong sense of responsibility to give back to the world, to add something meaningful so I absorbed that into my being and bring that into everything I do.

How I show up has a ripple effect whether it’s professionally or personally. When I became a single mom, I knew I didn’t want my kids lives to change more than they had to and that included the lifestyle they had grown to know. I  wanted not only to be able to provide but to also be at my kids games, art shows and any other activities and also just to be a present and strong anchor for them. With this being important to me, I knew I had to step it up a notch. My kids were 7,7 and 5 when I became a single mom so they still needed me very much on a more micro level.

I took an inventory of my current situation and broke down what I would need to do to take it up a notch in business while also being the mom I wanted to be and my children deserved. I started implementing these things on a daily basis over time so they would stick and I wouldn’t get overwhelmed. I also knew I had to be patient and that success doesn’t just happen. I didn’t have the luxury of giving up. There wasn’t a choice for me in my mind. I was the deciding factor in what my life was going to look like both personally, professionally, emotionally and financially.

When I tapped in to what my purpose and goals were whether it be my kids, giving back to my clients or anything else there is an inner strength that comes from that and naturally guides you. I’m not saying it’s easy or that I didn’t have my moments because I definitely did. It can be scary but we can’t let the fear override and become the main voice we hear. We are all capable and once we realize and accept that, it is very liberating to know we are each the captain of our own ship.
