How Do We Live Our Dream Life?
By Pam Christian

Why are so many of us not living the lives we dream of and the lives we know we can have? It's mostly because we have been led to believe that it's possible for others but not for us and then we reinforce that belief every day in small ways and in large ways. We reinforce it by believing that it's true and then telling ourselves that it's possible for others but not ourselves because we are not good enough, we are not worth it, we are not deserving.
We are programmed to believe this through messages that we are given from friends, family, colleagues, and more importantly from the world and society in general and then we hold onto that instead of fighting through it and using critical thinking to even ask ourselves if it's true and whether or not we believe it.
It's almost like an illness or a virus of the mind but since we can't see it we don't even realize it's happening but it is and it's real. If you take some time to notice what you tell yourself about yourself on a deep, unconscious level you will begin to realize how unkind you are to yourself and how little belief or confidence you have in yourself. When you realize and awaken to the voice that has been playing on repeat in your mind, you realize it's not true and that the only person who has the power to change it is you!
The voice you speak becomes the voice you hear and the voice you hear becomes the voice you believe. Your entire life becomes a reflection of that voice so it is very important to be aware of it and then make sure it is serving you. For most of us, the voice inside of us, the voice that speaks to us all day long is not the nicest or most supportive, loving or encouraging voice. It’s a voice that feeds on negativity, fears and limits.
It's a voice that has been on repeat since early in our childhood with messages that were implanted in us and that we absorbed and agreed with without any doubt or question. Years of hearing what can’t be done, what’s wrong with you, what you aren't good at, what’s not possible, etc. has made you second guess yourself. This voice is the very voice that keeps you small and keeps you feeling bad about yourself and your life. This is the voice we need to change because this voice is lying to you. It's just not true. You are meant for so much more if you allow yourself to feel that, to know it, to believe it. You're meant for greatness - whatever that greatness looks like for your life as it will be different for each of us but what's not different is that we are all made for so much more.
This voice of doubt has infiltrated your mind, body and spirit - it has become a habit, a habit you have to break. It’s time to recalibrate and reprogram. When you decide to do this and you do it with intention, effort and consistency, before you know it you won’t even recognize yourself or your life in the best way possible but this will take time. Before anything can change, you have to believe this is possible. You have to believe in yourself even if it means that you start small with baby steps. Remember, you were not born with doubt. Doubt was taught to you when you were young and impressionable and before you had the tools and strength to disagree. You have them now, you just have to tap in because until you do the doubt is still alive and thriving within you running rampant and wreaking havoc in your life. That doubt is making you feel bad about yourself and your life and you continue to feed that doubt with your voice; the voice that speaks to you all day long and you feed it with your fear. That doubt and that fear isn’t who you are inherently. It isn’t what you were born with. It was taught to you and if fear can be taught so can strength and belief and trusting and following your dreams. Once you do, you will remember who you are and that you were made for more. Once you start believing in yourself and the truth of who you are, the results will reflect that in your daily life. You can change your life, you can feel better. It doesn’t have to be this way anymore. Start to question and reject everything you have been taught about yourself that holds you back and everything you have told yourself about what you can/can’t do and who you can/can’t be. You can rebuild to the person you once were and the person you are destined to be. In that rebuilding lies your power and your personal liberation.
